TUESDAY, JUNE 26 TOUR – OPEN

  • Portland in the Pearl Tour  We’ll start out at the Chinese Garden – such fun!  Calligraphy classes, Tai Chi, tea service and a lovely garden.  From there, we’ll travel to world-renown Powell’s Books.  About a block full of books – if you can’t find it here, it likely hasn’t been written yet.  From there, we will board the Portland Spirit and enjoy a luncheon cruise on the Willamette River to end our tour of the Pearl area of Portland.

FILLED TOURS

  • Mt. Hood Tour TOUR FULL  We’ll head up to Multnomah Falls in the morning.  While there has been much fire damage, the main trail to the falls will be open.  We’ll have lunch at this historic lodge that firefighters worked so hard to save from the devastating fires in 2017.  After lunch, we’ll head up to Hood River, a lovely town right on the Columbia where we can take a moment to watch the windsurfers who swarm the Columbia River with their brightly colored kites.  There will be time to look around Hood River and do a little wine tasting.  Then up across the mountain, with a stop at historic Timberline Lodge for some libations and a look around before heading back to Salem.

*Tillamook Tour TOUR FULL  Who doesn’t love Tillamook Cheese?  We’ll visit the cheese factory, which was the favorite tour of the 2006 rally in Salem.  And yes, you can take home all the cheese you want plus taste samples.   We’ll have lunch in Netarts, OR, right on Netarts Bay at the Schooner Restaurant.  We’ll leave time for a walk on the beach so you can look for sand dollars.  From there we will head to the Tillamook Air Museum where WW 2 blimps used to live.  Now there are all sorts of historic aircraft to see.  Next we’ll drive south along the coast, stopping at a glass blowing studio in Lincoln City. Then back to the Fairgrounds.

  • Oregon Wine Tasting TOUR FULL  Have you heard great things about our Oregon wines? It’s all true!  We have arranged a memorable wine tour in the Willamette Valley that you will treasure always. Below are the four wineries included in our tour:
Domaine Serene www.domaineserene.com
Domaine Drohin www.domainedrouhin.com
Sokol Blosser www.sokolblosser.com
These are all high-end wineries in gorgeous locations around Dayton, Oregon. We have arranged comfortable transportation for 12 visitors at a time, and tours are offered on Tuesday – we will add Monday and Thursday if there is demand. The cost is $160 per person and includes transportation, winery tasting fees at four wineries
and a sack lunch. Please check out the websites of these wineries and I think you’ll find them quite elegant and scrumptious. We are famous for our Pinot Noirs in particular but have other very good wines as well. Please join us so we can show off our terrific Oregon wines.
  • Ultimate Airstream Tour  TOUR FULL  Ultimate Airstream provides custom work on Airstream trailers – everything from adding a cabinet to making an Airstream a food truck.  Touring the facility is fascinating – you will be amazed at all they can do.  From there, we will head to the World of Speed.  From drag racing and land speed records displays to hydroplanes and NASCAR, they have it all!  You can even drive a simulator.  My husband could spend all day here.  Then we’ll have lunch as a group and end our day with a visit to the lovely and peaceful Oregon garden.
