Salem Water Advisory Continues for Vulnerable Population

For those still concerned about Salem water, this is a reminder that Airstream, Inc. is sponsoring a “purified water bar” refilling station for our Club. This granular activated carbon-filtered unit is conveniently located on the Fairgrounds at the southwest corner of Columbia Hall.

Emergency Information

  • For medical emergencies, call 911.
  • For this and all other emergencies, call (937) 507-5549.  This phone will be answered by a member of the Executive Committee who will assist you as needed.

Fairgrounds Info

  • Green and Yellow gates will be open from 8 am til 8 pm, along with the Bullpen. After 8 pm the only way in or our of the Fairgrounds is the Bullpen
  • Remember, Salem leash laws apply on the Fairgrounds.
  • Showers are located in Building 7, the Forster Livestock Pavilion. There are Men’s and Women’s showers at both ends of the building on the second floor.

Willamette Arts Center Classes

The Willamette Arts Center is located at the north end of the Fairgrounds near the Taproom under the large canopy. They are offering several classes throughout the coming week. Fees range from $5-$35, and all supplies are included in the price. The schedule for the rest of the week follows:

  • Raku Glazing and Firing – Tuesday, June 26, from 10 am-at least 12 noon
  • Acrylic Pouring – Tuesday, June 26, from 10 am-1 pm
  • Beginning Watercolor – Wednesday, June 27, from 10 am-12 noon

Text Messaging

Remember to sign up for the Text Messages on your phone. Text messages will be sent to your phone and could include severe weather updates, last minute schedule changes or other important rally related information. We ask that only members attending the Rally sign up to receive texts to help keep cost down. To sign up during the Rally text the word NEST to phone number 25827. Your cellular phone carrier regular rates may apply.

Need Any Service on Your Trailer or Motorhome?

Airstream Adventures Northwest began at 9:00 am, June 23. They will be scheduling service appointments online. Go to https://www.airstreamnw.com/internationalrally/, scroll down or click on the “Schedule Service” tab, fill out the form with your desired time, and the service department will do the rest. Appointments are available through Friday, June 29, at 3 pm.

Free Wheelers Update

All singles or those traveling alone are invited to attend the Free Wheelers Early Dinner (and/or Happy Hour Thursday, June 28, at 4:00 pm. At Los Dos Amigos on North Lancaster. Free Wheelers also have a Happy Hour each day from 3-5 pm at Red Pavilion site 61.

SkyMed

  • Reminder – the Sky Med presentation will be today, June 26, at 9:00 am
  • Come and enjoy wine and cheese and meet SkyMed’s Chairman Will Klein @ 4:30 pm today in the Floral Building. Everyone is welcome.

Committee Announcements, Schedules, and Deadlines

  • “Living the Dream” Parade on Friday, June 29 reminds all Units and Club who would like to participate to sign up with the Parade chairs (Milt Burton at 662-423-8090, or George McNinch at 228-818-9784), or secure an entry form at the Parade table in Columbia Hall. All participating units should attend the Parade Chair’s meeting on June 26, from 3-4 pm in the Jackman Long Conference Room.
  • The Community Care table is located in the Columbia Hall.  We are accepting hats, scarfs, mittens, blankets and sundries for the local rescue mission.  We are also accepting aluminum tabs for recycling and donating to the Ronald McDonald House. Finally, if you’d like to lighten your load a bit, consider donating an extra can or two of food, which we will contribute to the local Food Bank. Thanks for all the donations!
  • The deadline for entering the Hobby & Art Show will be Tuesday, June 26th at 4:00 PM.  We hope there will be a lot of entries, and we are looking forward to a great exhibit of talent.
  • Come enjoy the Pet Show Tuesday, June 26, 2:30 p.m. in the Jackman-Long Building.. DONATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE WILLAMETTE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A ‘NO KILL SHELTER.’ They need food, towels, and cleaning supplies. You can write a check payable to WILLAMETTE HUMANE SOCIETY.

Amateur Radio Club (ARC)

  • The WBCCI Amateur Radio Club (ARC) will hold its International Rally Net each morning at 0730 hours on 146.430 mHz; listen for WB8RC.
  • The WBCCI ARC station will be set up in the Information Booth located at the edge of the Purple Columbia parking area next to the Natural Resources Center.  Stop in to see us and work the station. Questions? Contact Don Williams – #14207.
  • Dinner for members and their spouses will be this Wednesday, June 27 at 4 pm at Elks Lodge #336, 2336 Turner Road SE, Salem. The cost is $20 per person at the door.

Pump outs will begin Thursday, June 21, per the following schedule. The color represents the dot that was placed on your location sticker when you arrived.

Propane Safety Inspection

The Propane Safety Committee Team is available to inspect your Airstream for possible propane leaks. If you suspect a propane leak or would just like peace of mind, come to the “Member Services” table in the Jackman Long building. Ask for the ‘Propane Safety Inspection ‘ form. Fill in the form and submit it to “Member Services.” A Propane Safety Inspection team member will contact you to schedule an appointment time to do the inspection.

Hitch-up and Back-in Time Trials

Sign-up lists for this event, sponsored by Airstream Adventures Northwest, are located in Columbia Hall. This event will take place on Tuesday, June 26, and Friday, June 29, 10:00 am til noon each day. For more information visit the sign-up table. All participants will receive a limited edition T-shirt
